I recently wanted to put some extra tokens on my wallet in the app in order to redeem them for e-sim, and found this process quite complicated and not that efficient. I had to register an account at an exchange, then I could buy some WIFI there, and finally I could transfer them to the provided wallet address in the app. Is there a better way to do it ?
Hmmm… Strange, it is indeed an odd way for transferring WIFI tokens to the app. I know a few projects, and they have built in an interface where you can buy tokens directly just using your credit card or via your crypto wallet. You could look at those projects, maybe it is worth exploring and implementing a similar solution: opensea.
Simplifying how users get WIFI tokens in the app would make it easier and nicer for them. This could bring in more people to use the app. When getting tokens is easier, more people might join in and use them. Also, letting users buy tokens directly with a credit card or crypto wallet can attract people who don’t use crypto exchanges much.
Expanding on Aaron’s point, integrating a direct token purchase interface within the app could also drive more transactions and liquidity within the ecosystem.
Users would have a convenient way to obtain WIFI tokens without needing to navigate external exchanges, reducing friction in the token acquisition process. This increased liquidity can benefit the ecosystem by enhancing token value and facilitating smoother transactions for users engaging in various activities within the app, such as redeeming tokens for e-sim IMHO😎
Sounds great, as this accessibility can drive adoption among users who may not be familiar with crypto or prefer using fiat for transactions.
We do have a lot of users who are not that familiar with cryptocurrency, I guess if we make it easy for them to onboard WIFI tokens, it will increase trading volumes significantly. Although there is a concern regarding implementing such a solution, as we need to check it with Google Play and Apple Store terms & conditions for crypto apps, they might have certain limitations and we need to make sure that we don’t violate them. Our legal team will check it up, while we are doing it, does anyone know the approximate costs of implementing this idea?
